The games will automatically be "resigned" by the app after 5 days for random players and 11 days for requested games.

I have two requested games that have been idle for 14 days and won't go away. Can you tell me how I can delete them?
Ivwant to delete this person from words  with friends don't even want to see his name what do I do?
This does not answer either question. The first person states that a game has been idle for 14 days. That is longer than your stated 5 or 11 days. Apparently, the "automatic resignation" of the game is not working for this person. The second person asks how they can delete an opponent, not how to "resign" a game. Neither question has been answered. Both people want control, but they are expected to sit by passively and wait for the game to be resigned, or an undesired opponent to be removed from their opponent list by whomever is in control of these things.
This is EXACTLY THE QUESTIONS I HAD! ALONG WITH SEVERAL OTHERS THAT IM PLAYING AND ALSO WORK WITH. SO I HAVE SEVERAL GAMES GOING WITH 1 FRIEND CUZ IT DIDNT SET UP RIGHT. NOW I CANT PLAY WITH OTHER FRIENDS  CUZ I CANT DELETE AS NEEDED. PLEASE FIX THIS PROBLEM. I PAID FOR MY GAME BECAUSE IT IS ALOT  OF FUN!!! GIVE PLAYER CONTROL TO DELETE PEOPLE AND GAMES. THANK YOU!!
I have been feeling same way. If I want to resign I can't until the player goes and they don't.  Give us more control
