When swapping can you get original letter(s) back?

When a letter swap is done, is it possible to re-draw the letters you are trying to swap out?

Yes it is possible to get the same letters back because they become part of the pool that the computer can then distribute.

Technically no. Practically yes.

If the letters you're swapping out are the J, Z, Q, X, or K then you will never see them return in a swap because the server won't return the same tiles.

That said if you're swapping out an A (8 tiles), E (13 tiles), I (8 tiles), O (8 tiles), R (6 tiles), or T (7 tiles) it is extremely likely that a swap with one of those letters will result in those letters coming back. Personally I recommend NEVER SWAPPING. You're almost always better off playing a 5-6 pt word that ditches your problem tiles than exchanging.

Memorizing these words will help you prevent the need to exchange:

AA, AE, AI, EAU, OE, OI, AERIE, EERIE, OORIE, OURIE, BRR, BRRR, CRWTH, CRWTHS, CWM, CWMS, HM, HMM, MM, NTH, PFFT, PHPHT, PHT, PSST, SH, SHH, TSK, TSKS, TSKTSK, and TSKTSKS

Swapping in WWF is not a "true" swap. It puts your letters you want to swap back into the pool and can be given right back to you. Ive had this happen to me a few times. Ive deliberately swapped tiles after counting tiles already on the board just to find out and it happens. Definitely a glitch that should be fixed. Swap means trade, or exchange...none of which includes getting back what youre putting in. Otherwise there would be no point in swapping.

Yes you can. I had 3 u's, 1 u had already been played and there were 6 letters left. I then swapped 4 tiles, and got 2 u's back.
