Disputing daily round 17.

0 votes
Playing round 17 against OmarK201. I have a screenshot showing Omar has not played in over a day, I'm ahead by around 140. Yet he claimed the victory and marked me as incomplete on the tourney page. I sent him a chat to ask what was going on, my phone said he sent me a message, but there is no message on my screen. He has not answered my subsequent chat asking him to finish the game, nor has he played another word. I notice he marked his following game as incomplete and claimed victory also. I can only assume there is something wrong with his app or he's trying to pull a fast one. Either way, I am not about to relinquish a 140-point lead or start a new game due to his technical difficulties or dishonesty. The present score is SOB: 386, Omar: 247, 20 tiles left in the bag. Screenshots are available if needed. Please intervene in this matter.

Omar resigned and sent me some nastygrams. I posted the scores as is. Again, if there is any further dispute, I have screenshots showing that I made the last word that was played and that Omar did not play for over a day. Not sure where this guy is coming from or if other players have had issues, but you can't just say "time ran out" and claim victory when you're the one who's stalling.
I also have proof that he did not move for up to 5 hours during the regulation of 24 hours during the round. I stand by my argument that time ran out as he played incredibly sporadically and the game was not finished. I agreed to mark it as no winner after he said he did not get my messages, but I do not see how I lose because this person is trying to win a game he could not be bothered to finish in 24 hours.

edit: Whatever. Everything I said still stands, but seeing as this is just a game and I'm new to this website, he can have the win and the score as it was. If I am truly wrong and he somehow can take the win after not moving for 5 hours without notifying me of such a pause, then I hope someone tells me or I could just keep spreading misinformation.

We ask that players attempt to finish all games even if it goes beyond the 24 hours. We understand that life gets in the way and sometimes it's not possible to complete the game in 24 hours.

Thank you for the voice of reason, Debbie. Apparently Omar is new to the site and may have misinterpreted the rules. I apologize if I flew off the handle a bit, but waking up to see a "loss" in a game I was way ahead in is disconcerting, as were his comments about my "unsportsmanlike" behavior.
