Triple word scoring rules.

0 votes
This has happened to me 3 times now and I think that it is wrong.  (Official Scrabble rules state it is wrong but I am not sure on the rules for words with friends)  What is happening is that I am playing a word where a tile lands on a triple word square.  My word also creates one or two new words by being placed next to an adjoining word.  Scrabble Rules state that all words should be tripled by on words with friends I am only receiving triple points for one new word and regular points for the one or two new words created by touching previous tiles.  Why is this happening??

Example: Today I played WAD and it touched to create PA and ID.  I should have received 7points x 3 for WAD and 5points x 3 for PA and 3points x 3 for ID total points = 45 I however only received 35 points which is 21 for WAD (correct) and 7 points for each other word.  It tripled my new letters (A & D) but did not triple the P & I

You only get the TW for words directly touching the TW not other words formed when attaching to them. For instance if the W in Wad was on the TW then only Wad would be tripled and the other two would only count their regular points.
