This is a serious problem for those who play at work. Obviously, it's a very disgraceful marketing ploy to get users to buy the ad-free version. I was tempted to avoid future embarrassing situations caused by the adds ability to override the sound settings on my device, then I realized that I hate the people who run "words with friends" and will instead play a risk-free, cost-free game to waste tax payers dollars on. To the makers of WWF- I hope you clog your new girlfriend's toilet and have to ask for a plunger.

I decided to write the above post somewhat hastily, after a traumatizing event in my office involving myself, my co-workers-- including but not limited to no less than two of my bosses, one of whom is the Honorable Cake F. Harts-- and the Zynga Franchise. No less than twenty eight (28) minutes after filing my initial complaint, I scored seventy-two (72) points on "fraud" against "CoopsPB&J." It should come as no surprise that I, a government employee, was unaware of the redunancy and stupidity of my decision, and thought I was in a state of complete disbelief when the admission of my word was shortly followed by a full-volumed advertisement.

While I maintain that "it's a very disgraceful marketing ploy to get users to buy the ad-free version," I acknowledge that the sounds settings for WWF operate independantly of the devices sound settings, and that by simply turning down the volume on the device manually while WWF is open and operating on the screen of the device is sufficient to avoid future incidents at the workplace.

For clarity's sake, I'd like this forum to note that I still hate the WWF franchise and everyone involved. As faithful recipients of the ads shown on your app we should be notified of any stipulations affecting our abilities to use the app at the workplace.

I tried this. Doesn't work. The sound from the ad still plays LOUD.
Had same prob. Twice. Volume on iphone was turned completely off. Ad volume overrode, and played loudly. Obnoxious.
